Somerset - Shirley Ann Gifford, age 88, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Laurel Heights Nursing Home in London. Shirley was born on May 9, 1937 in Cumberland, KY to the late Sidney Irvin and Nannie Clay Irvin. Shirley was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She loved Bluegrass Gospel music and collecting antique furniture. On June 18, 1954, Shirley married her husband, Dale Gifford and they shared sixty four years of marriage prior to his passing on October 18, 2018.

She is survived by one son, Dale (Dana) Gifford of Somerset; one daughter, Gail (Michael) Isaacs of Lincolnton, NC; one sister, JoAnn Spence (Dale) of Carlisle, OH; four grandchildren, Brandon Isaacs, Erica Wheeler, Adam Gifford and Olivia Bland; and six great grandchildren, Cade, Lillie, and Cameron Wheeler, Edie and Mara Gifford, and Amma Bland.

In addition to her parents, Sidney and Nannie Clay Irvin, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Gifford; three brothers, Arnold Irvin, Earl Irvin, and Ronald Irvin; and four sisters, Jean Waddle, Ony Lee Reece, Ova Bullock and Jewell Hall.

Visitation was Friday, April 17,2026 from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service followed Friday, April 17th at 5:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Shepherd officiating. Burial was at Somerset Cemetery.
