Paul  Cooper
Paul James Cooper, 78, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset after a brief illness.
He was born on June 8, 1941 in Somerset, Kentucky, son of the late Brent Cooper, Sr. and Aneita McQueen Cooper. Paul was retired from the Somerset Sanitation Department after 34 years of dedicated service. He was an easy-going family loving individual. He enjoyed outdoors, nature rides, playing the guitar and singing, but perhaps his greatest joy was being an Elvis Presley enthusiast and spending time with his family and friends. Paul was of the Church of God Faith and will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Brent and Aneita Cooper, a brother; Billy Cooper, a great-granddaughter; Lennox Pitman and a brother-in-law; Donald "Red" Hawk.
He is survived by his siblings; Peggy Jo Hawk, Brent Cooper, Jr. Mary Nell Cooper (Dave) Lanigan, Elvis Eugene (Shirley) Cooper and Bennie Lee (Dorinda) Cooper all of Somerset, Kentucky, a daughter; Erica Gillispie of Virginia, two sons; Hawk Paul James Prather of Somerset, and Paul James Pitman of Beattyville, Kentucky, nine grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company. The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeff Griffith officiating. Interment will be in the West Somerset Cemetery.
