Somerset - Joyce Sue Lawson Cox, 91, of Somerset, Kentucky passed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born in Whitley Co., Kentucky on February 15, 1934; daughter of the late Laford and Carrie (Rains) Lawson. She worked as a medical technician and earned an Associate's degree from Cumberland College. She was a devoted member of Science Hill Trinity Church and found joy in reading, playing cards, and square dancing with her husband. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family, especially caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bert Cox whom she married on March 7, 1959; her children, B. David Cox, Michael & (Karen) Cox, Debra & (Burney) Manning, and Glenn & (Suzy) Cox; a brother, Sam & (Patsy) Lawson; grandchildren, Becky & (Bart) Turner, Alyson & (Danny) Yates, Phillip Cox, and Rebecca & (Josh) Wilson; great-grandchildren, Olivia Turner, Brody Turner, Avery Yates, Annabelle Wilson, Alayna Wilson, and Ayden Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Tonya Prats Cox; a granddaughter, Jessica Minton; and a sister, Betty Jo & (Don) Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Cox officiating.

A private family entombment will be held at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends after 11 AM Thursday, October 2, 2025 until time for services.
