Somerset - Janet Verlene Clark, 87, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on October 17, 1938 to the late Andrew "Joe" & Josephene (Vickers) Barron in Pulaski County, Kentucky. Janet found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially sewing beautiful quilts that will be treasured by those she loved. She was an enthusiastic supporter of University of Kentucky athletics and rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on the Wildcats. Janet was a devoted member of High Street Baptist Church and was also a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Radiant Chapter #200 in Noblesville, Indiana. She retired from Duke Energy after many years of dedicated service in the business office, where she was known for her strong work ethic and friendly spirit.
She is survived by a brother, Alton & (Janice) Barron; a niece, Rhonda & (Jimmy) Nelson; a nephew, Dale & (Janie) Barron; 3 great-nieces; 3 great-nephews; 2 great-great-nephews; an aunt, Freeda Barron; and several cousins.
Janet will be missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Bullock officiating.
Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time for services.
