Ida Mae Wade (nee Wilson) long time resident of Russell County and a more recent resident of Somerset, KY passed away in the Hospice Center at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital on September 9, 2016.
Mrs. Wade is preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Wade, Jr. A sister, Doris Mildred McFarlane of Mobile, Alabama, brothers Donald Ray Wilson and Dan C. Wilson. Survivors include her two sons, Kerry Dallas Wade, his wife Sherry and one son Christian; David Kim Wade, his wife Toni, and daughters Tiffany (Harrell) Stevens, Tara (Brandon)Mounce, and Lauren Hale and Kelly Hale; one brother, Bruce Wilson of Morrow, Ohio, and one sister-in-law, Sue Wilson. Seven great grandchildren also survive Mrs. Wade.
Mrs. Wade's long career includes her work with Head Start and social services, serving as a former gift shop manager at Cumberland Lake State Park, and contributing to numerous philanthropic organizations. Her love of God, along with the exemplary life she lived, led many others to understand the joy of salvation that she knew.
Mrs. Wade was a life -long member of the Russell Springs First Baptist Church, active in the Pulaski County Newcomers Group, a leader of the now defunct Young Women Association, and an avid supporters of many Christian ministries. She leaves behind a sincere gratitude to those who enriched her life through each of these organizations and the friendship that extended beyond them.
The funeral for Mrs. Wade will be September 17, 2016, at Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs, KY.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 a. m. CST followed by a memorial service at noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland are requested.
