Pulaski County - After a long battle with illness, Gale Ernest Peavie, age 76 of Somerset is at peace. Gale was born on September 10, 1948 in Zula, KY. The son of Charlie Peavie and Marie Neal Bertram.

He was a member of East Somerset Baptist Church, retired in 2012 from Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital after 44 years of service, and a US Army veteran serving in Okinawa, Japan during the Vietnam conflict.

He was a connoisseur of coffee and loved the outdoors. Above all, his family was his greatest joy, He loved being called "Grandpa."

Gale is survived by one son, David "Shannon" Peavie (Jennifer) of Wildie, KY; his daughter, Angela Gayle Blevins (Randy) of Science Hill, KY; his former wife and the mother of his children, Linda Young (Mike) of Berea, KY; five grandchildren, Mason Blevins (Emily), Allison Blevins, Rachel Blevins, David Lucas Peavie (Madison Fuchs) and Gracie Beth Peavie; and one great grandson "Baby" Blevins due December 2025. He is also survived by two brothers, Jerry Peavie (Gayla) and Gene Peavie, both of Monticello, KY.

Gale was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Peavie and Marie Bertram.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Hwy 80, Somerset, KY 42503. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Pastor Darvie Fenison officiating. Burial will be at Mill Springs National Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gale's honor may be made to Project 58:10 at P.O. Box 276, Somerset, KY 42502. Project 58:10 is a food backpack program for school children in Pulaski County.
