Clarence Jones

Reverend Clarence Barton Jones, Jr., of Somerset, passed from this life to his Heavenly Home on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at his daughter's home in Russell Springs. Reverend Jones was 80 years of age.
Born Wednesday, October 27, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Clarence Barton, Sr. and Dorothy Dryden Jones. Reverend Jones was a man with a servant's heart; he was a Pentecostal pastor for many years, most recently of Rose Chapel Church, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and loved to mow.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Barton Jones, of Louisville; his daughter, Angela Jones (and Gerald) Coe, of Russell Springs; his sister, Patsy Johnston, of Englewood, Ohio; five grandchildren, Corey Jones, Craig Jones, Sommer Schoch, Liz Bowen and Gunnar Coe; sisters-in-law, Vicki (and Major) Barnett, Rose (and Alan) Walters, and Peggy McClendon, all of Nancy; four great-grandchildren, Rachel Jones, Christian Jones, Chance Jones and Lydia Bowen; three step-grandchildren, Maggie Eveland, Nicole Eveland and Cole Eveland; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Reverend Jones is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Sue Jones; his sister, Toby Rix; and his great-grandson, Hunter Bowen.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m., CST, Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Curt Hill and Bro. Josh McClendon officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be conducted by the Russell County Honor Guard.
Active pallbearers will be Gerald Coe, Corey Jones, Gunnar Coe, Dave Vaughn, Rick Winstead and David Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Chance Jones and Craig Jones.
Visitation for Reverend Jones will be held after 9:00 a.m., CST, on Tuesday, until time of funeral services.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
