Jack Erwin Johnson, age 50, of Somerset, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at his residence.
He was born on December 26, 1966 in Lexington, Kentucky, son of the late Joann Buster (Willard) Peyton and John Ervin Johnson. He was of the Apostolic Faith and attended Emanuel Temple of Monticello. He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky PHA as a member and former Worshipful Master of Ionic Lodge #65. He was a former employee of Belden Manufacturing of Monticello for over 17 years. Jack enjoyed fishing, grilling and cookouts as well as cave exploring, however, his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
He leaves behind to cherish his precious memories, the Mother of his Children and best friend; Tosha Hancock Johnson, Two Sons; Dasean Johnson and Isaiah Johnson, a Daughter; Cortney Johnson all of Somerset, his Sisters; Janice Cowan, Deborah Peyton, Sharon Peyton and Rita Peyton, his Brothers; Thomas Cowan, Troy Johnson, Roderick and (Chandra) Peyton and Nathan Johnson, Sisters in law that remained as his close friends; Amy (Jeremy) Burton, Ashley (B.J.) Hancock and Brother in law; Adam (Essie) Hancock as well as his Mother in law; Jenny Campbell and Father in law; Kenny Hancock along with a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
Besides his Parents, he was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents; Milton and Laura Buster, Paternal Grandparents: Jack Johnson and Victoria Prentis, Brothers; Mark Johnson and James Peyton, a Niece; Makenzie "Shalisha" Ellis.
Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a Masonic Ceremony immediately following the visitation.
The family will receive friends and gather at the Ionic Lodge #65 located on South Maple Street in Somerset after the masonic service.
