Virginia Darlene Holder Finkbiner, age 84, of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Somerset, KY, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Carmel, IN.
Virginia was born on June 15, 1932, in Somerset, KY, to the late Ernest Holder, Sr., and Zula Turpin Holder. She graduated from Somerset High School, where she made many lifelong friends. She attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church while she was in Somerset and received Jesus as her Savior while going there.
While living in Indianapolis, Virginia worked at Whirlpool and Ford Motor Company. She then helped her husband Jack for about twenty years in their business called Hoosier Asphalt. Her last job was at the Optical Shop, which she and her husband owned in Carmel, IND.
She is survived by four sons: Jeff (Cathy) Finkbiner, Jack Edward Finkbiner, Russell Finkbiner, all of Indianapolis, and Greg Finkbiner from Maryland; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Huey Holder (Elaine) of Somerset, and a sister, Joyce Prather of Manchester, TN.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Finkbiner, whom she married in 1959 in Indianapolis; two brothers, Ernest Holder, Jr., and Jack Holder; and one sister, Nell Culp.
Upon Virginia's request, her body was given to research. A cremation will follow, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
