Mellott, IN - Sylvia Ann (Yeary) Zeller, 78, Mellott, IN, passed away at the Franciscan Health Lafayette East on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 10:54 p.m.
Sylvia was born in Waynesburg, KY on November 23, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Coyt Corbin and Opal Alene (Todd) Yeary. Sylvia was raised in Eubank, KY, graduating from Eubank High School in 1957. She later graduated from Danville Beauty School in Danville, KY.
While living in Kentucky, Sylvia was a beautician and also a receptionist for Dr. Williams in Eubank. In 1961 she moved to Mellott and worked at Radio Material Corp. in Attica for a short time and then worked at Raybestos in Crawfordsville until her retirement.
While living in Kentucky, Sylvia was baptized in the Estesburg Church of Christ. After moving to Mellott she worshiped in the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. As a pastime, Sylvia enjoyed reading. Her favorite pastime was doting over her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel on television and traveling with her husband. She enjoyed going to drag racing events with her husband and following John Force Racing.
On December 25, 1960, Sylvia married Donnie T. Zeller in Eubank, KY. He preceded in death on July 13, 2003.
Sylvia leaves behind a daughter, Deborah (Brian) Booe, Hillsboro; a son, Mike Zeller, Crawfordsville; a brother, Billy (Alma) Yeary, Lexington, KY; four grandchildren, Carmine Birge, Megan (Geoffrey) Gaylor, Cole Zeller and Cacy Zeller; three great-grandchildren, Zavior Jolly, Alex Birge and Thomas Gaylor; a soon-to-be great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Gaylor; three of her best friends, Linda Mullens, Dennis Fruits and Kathy Rhoda. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, James Yeary and two dear friends, Janet Valliere and Charlotte Miller.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro on Sunday, Feb. 11th, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
