Sharon Evans, 71 passed away in her home on May 10th, surrounded by loving family and friends.
Sharon (Sherri) Evans would like to let you know she has left on a trip. She's gone to join her son, Craig; her sister, Charlotte; her mother, Grace; many cats, and their dogs, Thug and Bit. These treasured family members have been waiting to celebrate with her for a long time and have welcomed her with hugs and laughter.
Those of us who were lucky enough to have had her in our lives will remember a kind and generous spirit who never met a stranger; a talented artist who left beauty on everything she touched; a curious mind never satiated with enough books to read and thoughtful conversations to share; and a heart as open to animals as it was to people.
Though originally from Kentucky, a love of the ocean called Sharon to the Savannah area where she found spiritual solace and enjoyed collecting sea shells and beloved new friends. Her warm and vibrant cackle will be deeply missed and always cherished by the many who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd Franklin Flynn and Grace Waters Flynn, her son Craig Alan, sister Charlotte Davis. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Evans, Brothers Boyd Franklin Flynn,(Donna),Michael Lewis Floyd, (Sherry), Timothy Mark Flynn, (Anita). Sisters, Rebecca Nartker, (Dennis), Cathleen Young of Somerset KY, Kristine Matthews (Steve) of Tyrone GA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests any remembrances in her name be made to Hospice of Savannah or the One Love Animal Rescue, Savannah GA.
Friends and family will be gathering to honor her life at a later date.
