Roy Alvin Hinklin, age 86, of Somerset, KY., departed this life on Wednesday July 26, 2017 at UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
Roy was born on July 7, 1931 in Caledonia, OH., to the late Charles and Effie J. Foos Hinklin. He was a Mechanic in the United States Air Force, a very active and longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Somerset, KY., and a private pilot. Roy was a longtime employee and an Industrial Engineer for Tecumseh before retiring in 1993.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Irene Maffett Hinklin, of whom he married on April 2, 1966 in Marion, OH; one son, Jeffrey Alan Hinklin of Old Monroe, MO; two brothers, Delnor Hinklin of Topeka, KS and Zenith Hinklin of Mansfield, OH; and a hosts of nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Roy was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
A graveside service for Roy will be held on Tuesday August 1, 2017 at 11:00am at Mill Springs National Cemetery with Bro. Mike Girdler officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the First United Methodist Church.
