Robert's Story

Robert David Langendorfer (Bob) was born on November 29, 1943 in Medina, NY, to Edward and Mildred Langendorfer. He attended school in Barker, NY and graduated in 1964. Shortly thereafter, he joined the U.S. Army and was assigned to Fort Dix, NJ. After graduating from advanced training in 1965, he was assigned to Wildflecken Germany. He served as a brave and loyal soldier and was honorably discharged in 1967.
He married JoAnn Wade in Lyndonville, NY in 1966 and remained happily married for 52 years. In 1975, he moved to Ninilchik, Alaska with his family where he hand built a home from the ground up and lived there for 40 years, before retiring to Nancy, Kentucky. Bob worked as a Journeyman electrician, often donating his time to help members of the community and served as Fire Chief of the Ninilchik Fire Department. He was a friend to all and a loving, caring husband and father, who always provided for his family.     
Bob is survived by his wife JoAnn; daughters, Tammy Studdard and Bobbie Osborne; his son, Robert Jr.; son-in-law, Ben Osborne; daughter-in-law, Debi Langendorfer; and seven grandchildren.
A viewing will take place at Mill Springs Fellowship Church on Tuesday, February 13th, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. The service will be at 1:00 p.m. at the church and officiated by Pastor Mark Rogers. The burial will immediately follow at the Mill Springs National Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
