Richard Joseph Heideman, age 71, of Somerset, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Jean Waddle Care Center.  Richard was born in Covington, KY on March 15, 1946 to the late Joseph Heideman and Dorothy Kruse Heideman. He was married to Kimberly Bramel-Heideman.
 Richard was of the Catholic faith. He received his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and he was a retired engineer from Emerson Electric.  He had also worked for GE, Bendix, and Tucumseh.  Richard dearly loved his family.  He enjoyed boating on Lake Cumberland with his family and friends.  He also liked woodworking and animals.
 Richard is survived by his wife Kimberly; two daughters, Christine Heideman Harlow (Matt DeRose) of Norwood, OH and Theresa Jean Kibby (Greg Moore) of Somerset; grandchildren, Jesse Harlow, Melinda Harlow, Aidan Harlow and Lily Harlow; brother, Greg Heideman of Chapin, SC; brother-in-law, Don Kampsen of Independence, KY; sister-in-law, Donna Batchelor (Wayne) of Rocky Mount, NC;  Godson, Amari Myrick; special niece, Logan Batchelor; special nephew, Dave Kampsen; special friend, Chris Lenhardt and numerous great nephews and nieces.
 Richard was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Kampsen; special nephew, Kenny Kampsen and son in-law, Mike Harlow.
 A memorial service honoring the life of Richard Joseph Heideman will be held Saturday, June 10th, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company and Crematory with Rev. Joe Altman and Fr. Jay VonHandorf officiating.  A visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:00 am.
 The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503 or to the charity of your choice.
