Clifford Ray was an active and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Somerset and former charter members of two previous churches.
After moving to Dayton Ohio in 1947, Ray returned to Somerset in 1969, to build a successful construction business. In addition to Abbott Builders, he was a member of the Home Builders Association, residing as president in 1977 and an active Mason for many years. Ray was also a partner in Lost Lodge Resort, and Somerset Cabinets. He owned real estate and helped develop Cumberland Heights near Lake Cumberland.
Clifford lived his life with gusto and enjoyed each day. He was a member of a bowling league and enjoyed a good game of Rook. He is remembered for his boating days on Lake Cumberland, teaching countless people how to ski. He loved fishing. At the age of 90, he still continued to walk regularly at the Somerset Mall. His latest hobby was collecting hats, which he displayed in his basement.
Ray loved God, family, friends and gospel music. His home was always inviting and filled with music. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
