Paul's Story

Paul Eugene Dye, age 67, of Nancy, KY, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY.
Paul was born on June 6, 1950 in Science Hill, KY to Allene Faye Harper Dye and the late William Claude Dye. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and he accepted the Lord at the age of 13 at Nelson Valley Baptist Church. Paul retired from South Kentucky RECC in 2001 as a Superintendent over the Right of Way Department after 31 years of service. He was a 7 year member of the Kentucky Army National Guard Unit in Monticello, KY.  Paul loved deer hunting, car races, pheasant hunting with his brothers-in-law in South Dakota, fishing with Paul Hewitt and other friends, and elk hunting in Colorado with his RECC friends. Above all, he loved spending time with his beloved granddaughter, Katie, with whom he shared a special bond.
He is survived by his mother, Allene Dye; his wife, Janice Coner Dye, whom he married on November 24, 1972 in Nancy, KY; one son, Jonathan (and Angela) Dye of Nancy; one daughter, Sarah (and Craig) Wesley of Bethelridge; one brother, Bill (and Midge) Dye of Somerset; one sister, Brenda Sue Dye Coner of Science Hill; one granddaughter, Katie Dye; two step grandchildren, Dana Wesley and Matthew (and Katie) Corbin; one step-great grandchild, Samuel Corbin; all the Coner family in Indiana; two uncles, one aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family members and friends.
Along with his father he was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Leonard Ed Coner; one sister-in-law, Patricia Ann Eastham Dye; and his father and mother-in-law, John and Elma Garner Coner.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 3, 2017 after 5:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Harper, Bro. Norman Harper, Bro. Joe Warren and Bro. Linville Dalton officiating.  Burial will be at Chesterview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pig Ridner, Jon Slavey, Chris Cain, Paul Merrick, Paul Hewitt, David Hewitt and Reuben Inabnitt. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jonathan Dye and Craig Wesley.
