Orville P. "Junior" Marcum, age 74, of Somerset, peacefully passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.
Junior was born on November 6, 1943, in Pulaski County, son of the late William Pearl and Flonnie Mae Brown Marcum. He married Loretta Brown on April 15, 1972, in Somerset. Junior enjoyed farming in his younger days. He enjoyed being "on the go" with Loretta, and loved to go visiting. He loved being with his grandchild and great-grandchildren. Junior enjoyed the "Dukes of Hazzard", always making him laugh. He was of the Baptist faith. Junior was a man who's friends were numbered by his acquaintances.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Loretta Marcum; his son, Stephen Marcum, of Somerset; his daughter, Lesia Bell (Reid), of Eubank; his brother, Larry Marcum (Carol), of Somerset; his grandson, Daniel Emler (Makessa); his great-grandchildren, Aubrie Emler, Alli Anne Emler and Wesson Emler; and many special friends.
Preceding Junior in death are his parents; his brothers, Clyde Marcum, Bill Marcum, Raymond Marcum and Donald Lee Marcum; his sisters, Artie Jenkins, Helen Marcum and Lucille Farmer; and his half-brothers, Ray Owens and Vernon Owens.
A Celebration of the Life of Orville P. "Junior" Marcum will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at 3:00 p.m., in the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company, with Bro. William Brown officiating. Interment will be held in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until time for services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Orville P. "Junior" Marcum Memorial Fund.
