Myron's Story

Myron Peggy Smith, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehab. She was born on December 25, 1936, in Frazier, KY, to the late Carl Grant Dugger and Rosetta Lawson Dugger. She was united in marriage to William L. Smith on September 11, 1955 in Rossville, GA.
Myron was a member of the West Point Baptist Church in Lafayette, IN. She loved to work in her flower garden and she enjoyed crocheting. She was a volunteer at Somerset Pulaski County Rescue Squad. Myron was a graduate of Danville School of Nursing. She was a retired LPN having worked for Oakwood and Britthaven of Somerset (now Somerwoods).
Myron is survived by her husband, William; two daughters, Debbie Stigall (Floyd) and Brenda Bell (Raymond); grandchildren, Anthony Scott Bell, Christina Baker, DeAngela Skaggs, Billy Ray Smith and Jordan R. Stigall and Elizabeth Jean Gholson; and great-grandchildren, Mark Baker, Jonathan Baker, Madeline Baker, Jayden Skaggs and Kathryn Smith. Myron is also survived by step-grandson Justin Mercer and great-grandchildren, Anora and Lilly Mercer and Skyler and Cherokee Gholson.
Myron is preceded in death by her parents; a son who died in infancy and a son, Billy "Mickey" Smith; two brothers, Gary Dugger and Arden Dugger; and two sisters Mildred Elaine Conatser and Nancy Cole.
Visitation for Myron Peggy Smith will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company and Crematory.
A celebration of life honoring Myron Peggy Smith will follow at 1:00 pm on Sunday at the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company and Crematory with Rev. Carter Stewart officiating.
Interment will follow at Alexander Chapel, Frazier, KY.
