Melissa Gay Fair Tompkins


Melissa Gay Fair Tompkins, age 55, of Somerset passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset.
She was born on May 15 1964, in Tacoma, Washington, daughter of Fred and Helen Ledford and was later adopted by her parents; Hubert E. Fair and Katherina Fornoff Fair who preceded her in death.
Melissa was a dedicated worker at the TTAI manufacturing Company until her health began to fail. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, and anything outdoors, she had a genuine passion for animals and nursing them back to good health and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her companion of 15 years; David DeBord, her biological parents; Fred and Helen Ledford, her son; Erik (Shanna) Tompkins, step-son; David Allen (Kayla) DeBord, step-daughter; Latasha DeBord and a brother and sister; Richard Fair and Cindy Fair both of Liberty, Kentucky, eleven beloved grandchildren; Kamrie, Kyle, Kory, Celeste, Cassidy, Addison, Alex, Aiden, Avery, Ely, Parker, her special friends; Jessica ad Larry Dye and her special dogs; Charlie and scooter, Iguana; Bubba and cockatiel; Woody along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 in the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company & Crematory with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marty Pribula officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Melissa Tompkins to the Pulaski County Animal Shelter, 235 Adopt Me Lane, Somerset, Kentucky 42501
