Helen's Story

Helen Faye Wallace passed away September 28, 2017 at Clarewood House Extended Care facility in Houston, TX.
Helen was born in Somerset, KY on July 7, 1928 to Floyd and Pearl Wesley Wallace.
She graduated from Science Hill High School, Class of 1947. After high school Helen attended Nazareth School of Nursing in Lexington, KY graduating in 1951. She received a license from The Wyoming State Board of Nursing to practice nursing as an RN in 1957. Serving in the USAF from 1961-1971 Helen traveled the world and was discharged as a Captain. She was licensed by The Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas as an RN in 1971.
Helen made her home in Bellaire, TX where she continued nursing at Park Plaza Hospital and retired from Methodist Hospital, both in Houston, TX.
Being from Kentucky, she loved to watch the Kentucky Derby and her favorite horse was Secretariat. She also enjoyed watching baseball and was a Houston Astros fan.
A graveside funeral service was held Monday, October 9, 2017 at Forest Park Lawndale, Houston, TX with the Rev. Tommy Thompson presiding.
