Donald William Gover, age 86, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Cumberland Nursing and Rehab.
Donald was born on December 31, 1931 in Somerset, KY to the late John Will Gover and Bernice Dutton Gover. He was a long time employee of the Army Corp of Engineers. Donald was a Sergeant in the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, loved Bingo and watching the Cincinnati Bengals.
Donald is survived by three sons, Richard (and Sheila) Gover of Somerset, Donald Ray "Bucky" Gover of Nancy and John Douglas (and Beth) Gover of Somerset; two daughters, Donna (and Donald) Jones of Somerset and Brenda Gover Johnston of Columbia; twelve grandchildren, Chad Gover, Kristy Moore, Alec Gover, Stephanie Jones, Christina Dowell, Brian Jones, Evan Gover, Seth Gover, Chandler Gover, Shane Gover, Tamika Johnston and Will Gover; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Bolin Gover; and three sons, Ronnie Gover, David Gover and Gerald Gover.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home
His funeral service will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Lawson officiating. Burial will be at Mill Springs National Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Evan Gover, Seth Gover, Chandler Gover, Brian Jones, Bill Clouse, J.W. Turpin, and Alex Godsey.
