Mrs. Christine Brown, age 81, widow of the late Mr. Mike Brown, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Wayne County Hospital in Monticello, Kentucky.
She was born in Wayne County on February 11, 1936 to the late George Pennicuff and Hazel Harness Pennicuff. She was married to the late Sylvester Watson and after his death later married Mike Brown who also preceded her in death. Christine enjoyed cooking and playing cards, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She was of the Baptist Faith and attended New Salem Baptist Church prior to her failing health.
Besides her parents and husbands she is preceded in death by a son; George Lee Watson, Daughter; Amy Watson, Three Brothers; Bill Pennicuff, Bob Pennicuff and James Pennicuff and a Sister; Ethel Pennicuff as well as one great-grandchild; MaKenna Watson.
She is survived by her son; Dennis James Watson of Monticello, Kentucky and Three grandchildren; Clint Watson, Renee (Travis Sartain), and D. J. (Elizabeth) Watson. Special Niece; Sherry Prater and "like a daughter" Saundra Cross all of Monticello and eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends gathered for a visitation at the graveside from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P. M. on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 90, in the Frazer Community of Wayne County. The Graveside Funeral Service and Interment followed at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Dewey Burkes Officiating.
