Carroll "Dunnie"'s Story
Carroll C. "Dunnie" Brock, Jr., age 85, of Jabez, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017, at his home.
Dunnie was born on March 19, 1932, in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Carroll Carnegie, Sr. and Odetta Vogel Brock. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Dunnie retired as an over the road truck driver, then spent many years as a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, camping and riding four-wheelers. Dunnie was a member of the "25ers" Social Club.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Irvin Brock; his son, Randy Brock; daughters, Lori Colwell, Kelly Quabebroux, Carol Ann Brock, Teresa Kier, Karen Brock and Jerri Francis Brock; brothers, James Brock, Hub Brock and Dale Brock; his sister, Liz Moses; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding Dunnie in death are his parents; his sons, Ricky Brock and Jeffrey Brock; and his brothers, Hiram Brock, Bill Brock, John Brock, Lenny Brock and Jerry Brock.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Nancy Funeral Home, Nancy, Kentucky.
A Celebration of the Life of Carroll C. "Dunnie" Brock, Jr., will be held on Wednesday, at 12:00 noon, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in the Morrow Chapel Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
